Abstract

Cross-sectional method, studied on 55 healthy people, aged 20-40, included 31 female and 24 male, all are living in Hanoi, aims to determine the total lung capacity (TLC), residual volume (RV), resistance in airways (Raw), specific resistance in airways (sRaw) used the body plethysmograph method and to determine the correlation between these index and sex, heigh, weight, age. Results: in male and female the TLC value 20 alternatively: 5,33 + 0,73 and 3,64 + 0,36 (L), RV 1,34 + 0,54 and 0,96 + 0,39 (L), Raw 1,43 + 0,59 and 2,37 + 0,78 (cm H2O/I/s), sRaw 4,67 + 2,07 and 5,89 + 1,83 (cmH2O.s). The TLC and RV value is higher in male than in female but the Raw and sRaw is lower in male than female. The TLC, RV value is related positonally with height, weight, Raw value is related negatively and sRaw is dependent from these index.
