Abstract

This study was carried out to find out heart rate variability of health care worker during the workshift in some central hospital. 160 health care workers (49.4% male, 50.6% female) with average age $35.9\pm7.1$ and $11.7\pm6.9$ years of working time was recorded by ECG Holter MSC-8800 Holter Monitoring with Medical Systems International software (USA). During recorded time by ECG Holter, health care workers worked as usual. Analysis HRV by time-domain measurements and frequency domain measurements.

The results showed that: In health care workers, the heart rate variability index during the workingshift of time-domain was: $\ln\text{SDNN}: 3.8\pm0.41$; $\ln\text{SDNNindex}: 3.6\pm0.40$; $\ln\text{SDANNindex}: 3.2\pm0.57$; $\ln\text{-rMSSD}: 3.3\pm0.35$; $\ln\text{-pNN50}: 2.0\pm0.92$ and frequency domain was: $\text{ULF}: 0.18\pm0.24\text{ms}^2$; $\text{VLF}: 0.82\pm0.82\text{ms}^2$; $\text{LF}: 1.99\pm1.84\text{ms}^2$; $\text{HF}: 3.91\pm3.70\text{ms}^2$; $\text{LF/HF}$ ratio $0.56 \pm 0.27$.

Risk factors increase the LF/HF ratio in health care worker were: age $\ge45$ ($\text{OR}=3.7$; $95\%\text{CI}=1.3-10.2$; $p<0,01$); working time $\ge15$ years ($\text{OR}=2.5$; $95\%\text{CI}=1.3-4.9$; $p<0.01$) and worked in the emergency department, intensive care unit, poison control unit, clinical examination department, operation department ($\text{OR}=2.1$; $95\%\text{CI}=1.1-3.9$; $p<0.05$), indicating an increase in sympathetic system.
