THE CORRELATION BETWEEN HEART RATE VARIABILITY AND HEART RATE OF WORKERS BY RECORDING 24 HOUR ECG HOLTER

Abstract

This study was carried out to find out the correlation between heart
rate variability (HRV) and Heart Rate (HR) by recording 24-hour ECG Holter. 66 man
workers were recorded by 24-hour ECG Holter MSC-8800 Holter Monitoring with Medical
Systems International software (USA). During recorded time by 24-hour ECG Holter,
workers worked as usual. Analysis HR and HRV by time-domain measurements and
frequency domain measurements. The results showed that there was a positive correlation,
quite tight between HRV indices by time-domain measurements and frequency domain
measurements in workers. HRV indices by time-domain measurements (SDNN, SDNN index,
SDANN index, pNN50) had pretty tight negative correlation with HR (-0.7<r<-0.5; p<0.001).
rMSSD correlated with moderate HR (r=-0.53, p<0.001). HRV indices by frequency domain
measurements (TP, ULF, VLF, LF, HF) was also negatively correlated fairly closely with HR (-
0.7<r<-0.5; p<0.001).
