THE PREVALENCE OF ANXIETY DISORDER IN COVID-19 PATIENTS IN AN ISOLATED AREA IN THE COMMUNITY

Abstract

Objective: We investigated the prevanlence of anxiety disorder in Covid-19 patients in an isolated area in the community in Ho Chi Minh city. Methods: A total of 130 covid-19 patients was recruited from september to november, 2021 in 10 commune, Go Vap district, Ho Chi Minh city and asked to answer the Depression Anxiety and Stress Scales (DASS-21). Results: The prevalence of covid-19 patients with anxiety disorder was 21.2% with the higher rate was found in female as compared with those in males. The anxiety scores was signficantly higher in the groups of the patients aged from 40 to 60 years than those in the groups of the patients with their age less than 40 years old. Conclusion: Increased prevalence of anxiety disordes was found in covid-19 patients in the isolated area in the community in Ho Chi Minh city.
