Abstract

Background: Visual evoked potentials (VEPs) can Provide important diagnostic : infomation regarding the functional integrity of the visual system, VEP had used to study disease of visual pathway. Objectives: Identify latencies and amplitudes of VEP in | Strabismic children and compare to those of anisometric children and nomal children. | Subjects and methods: PVEP were recorded simultaneously in 97 amplyopia patients | (47 strabismic amblyopia chitdren, 50 anisometropic amplyopia and 50 normal childrenas | contro! subjects). Results: Latencies of Nis, Pigg, Nias amblyopic eye in strabismic ị amblyopia groups and anisometropic 8mplyop¡a were 79 6 5 1m ˆ 514,8 + 6.6 ms and 116,9 + 6,8 ms: 158 52g72 05 and 80,7 + 61 ms | P © eye in strabien gt 5⁄9 ms and 1820 y 1 ms.
