Abstract

The study aim was to evaluate the putative association between some factors witii impaired glucose intolerance in patients with dementia. The patients were divided into dementia group and control group (without dementia). 60 patients in dementia group were diagnosed according to DSM-IV-TR criteria. Alf subjects were examined and performed neuropsychological and glucose tolerance test. Results showed that there was a positive correlation between the concentration of 2 hour blood glucose with BMI and waist circumference in dementia patients (r = 0,287; p < 0,05 and r = 0,27; p < 0 05) There was an association between triglycerides and decreased HDL-C with im sired glucose tolerance (p < 0,05). There was no difference in age, gender hi he of hypertension and cerebral vascular accident between impaired glucose tol istory normal glucose tolerance group (p > 0,05).
