APPLYING IMAGING ANALYSIS TO INVESTIGATE RECOVERY IN MOTION OF FACIAL MUSCLES IN PATIENTS WITH PERIPHERAL FACIAL FALCY

Abstract

Objective: To investigate recovery in motion of facial muscles at movement conditions by imaging analysis. in patients with peripheral facial falcy. Methods: movements of facial muscles were recorded and analyzed by Kinovea software in 30 patients with peripheral facial falcy treated at Department of Neurology, Military Hospital 103. Results: After treatments, mean distance from the center line of the forehead muscles increased significantly while this distance of orbicularis oculi decreased significantly in compared to these before treatments. Conclusion: results of the present study indicated that the imaging analysis might apply to evaluate correctly and effectively recovery in motion of facial muscles in patients with peripheral facial falcy.
