The Effect of Yoga on Quality of Life in Breast Cancer Patients

Abstract

Objectives: The study assessed the effects of yoga on anxiety, depression, stress, sleep quality and quality of life in breast cancer patients. Subjects and Methods: The study was conducted on 37 patients with breast cancer, divided into two groups: yoga group (n=19), control group (n=18). Results: After three months of yoga practice, scores for anxiety, depression, stress and sleep quality of breast cancer patients were reduced with p<0.001; quality of life scores increased with p<0.001. As for the control group, scores for these symptoms were almost unchanged after 3 months (p>0.05).
