Frailty Syndrome and Its Association with Polypharmacy among Inpatient Older Adults in National Geriatric Hospital

Abstract
Objective: To identify the prevalence of frailty syndrome and its association with polypharmacy among inpatient older adults in National Geriatric Hospital. Subjects and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional included of 382 inpatient older adults in National Geriatric Hospital. Results: Mean age was 76,5 + 8,7. The ratio of female/male was 1.3. The prevalence of frailty syndrome, pre- frailty and non- frailty was 33,8%; 39,8% and 26,4%, respectively. There was no statistical significance difference between frailty syndrome and polypharmacy (p> 0.05). Conclusion: The prevalence of frailty syndrome was high, and it is recommended that frailty syndrome should be routine screening among inpatient older adults in National Geriatric Hospital
