The Characteristic and Risk Factor of Chronic Kidney Disease in Dialysis Department of Thu Duc General Hospital

Abstract
Objectives: To review the paraclinical characteristics and risk factors of CKD (chronic kidney disease) in dialysis department of Thu Duc General Hospital. Subjects and methods: Cross sectional study in 151 patients. Results: The medium value of plasma urea is 84,5 + 45,8 mg/dL, creatinine is 5,1 + 4,0 mg/dL, statistically higher in male in comparison to female patients. Risk factors for CKD include: hypertension (47,7%). diabetes (31,1%), Polycystic kidney disease (9,3%), gout (4,6%), glomerular diseases (4%), nephritic calculus (3,3%). Conclusions: Hypertension and diabetes is two main risk factors for CKD. Male patients with risk factors need to be screened and treated for CKD, to avoid rapid progression to CKD
