EFFECTS OF HALOPERIDOL ON LOCOMOTOR ACTIVITY, SOCIAL INTERACTION AND LEARNING IN MICE WITH CHRONIC KETAMINE ADMINISTRATION

Abstract
The aim of this research was to investigate the effects of haloperidol on locomotion, social behavior and learning in animal model of schizophrenia. The research was carried out using 99 healthy male mice, aged 7-10 weeks. The results showed that ketamine dosed 20 mg/kg/day for 14 consecutive days did not affect locomotor activity but reduced social interaction in mice compared with control group. Haloperidol dosed 2mg/kg/day improved social interaction but not spatial memory in mice model of schizophrenia compared with control group.
