THE EFFECT OF PRACTICING TRADITONAL MARTIAL ART ON MAINTAINING HEALTH AND PREVENTING DISEASES IN THE ELDERLY

Abstract
The objective of the study is to understand the effect of practicing traditional martial art on maintaining health and preventing diseases in the elderly. The research results showed that regular practice of tai chi exercises in traditional martial art was effective in improving patients' condition as well as general health status in the elderly; in the cardiovascular and neuromuscular disease groups, both the number of patients and severity of the disease had shown a significant decrease while the physical health of participants had a remarkable improvement.
