EFFECTS OF KETAMINE ON SPACE MEMORY ACQUISITION AND RETRIEVAL IN MICE
Main Article Content
Abstract
The aim of this research was to assess the effects of ketamine on
water maze memory acquisition and retrieval in mice. The research was carried out by
using 40 healthy male Swiss mice, aged 7-10 weeks. The results showed that pre-training
ketamine at dose 20 mg/kg not only impaired animal's performance in finding the hidden
platform but also increased significantly the escape latency to platform comparing with
control. However pre-probe ketamine was not affected on time spent in target quadrant.
