DECORIN: A MOLECULE POTENTIAL FOR DISEASE-TARGETING

Abstract
Decorin, a proteoglycan constituent of the extracellular matrix,
regulates a variety of cellularfunctions, either by binding to extracellular matrix molecules
orcell surface receptors, consequently influencing cell differentiation, proliferation and
apoptosis. Therefore, it can also interfere with pathological processes such as
tumorgenesis, wound healing and myocardial infarction. The roles of this molecule have
been experimentally evidenced in various disease models. In this mini-review, we
summary the findings of recent Dcn-related research to make an overview about the
disease-targeted potential of this molecule.
