Abstract

Objective: evaluating the effect of anti-arthritic, acute and chronic anti-inflammatory of "Thai Binh HV” extract on Wistar rats. Methods: Experimental controlled, descriptive cross-sectional study. Anti-arthritis effect of "Thai Binh HV” was evaluated on rheumatoid arthritis rats model using Complete Freund's Adjuvant. Acute anti-inflammatory effect of "Thai Binh HV” was evaluated on paw edema rats model. Chronic anti-inflammatory effect was evaluated in models cause experimental granulomas. Results: "Thai Binh HV" extract with both dosage levels (11.9g/kg/day and 23.8g/kg/day) reduced the diameter of the ankles (p < 0,05), reducing inflammatory cells and eliminating fibrosis in joints that cause inflammationon rheumatoid arthritis rats; reduced the size of the rat feet edema on paw edema rats model with the rate of inhibition of inflammatory edema is 41.10%, 43.81% (respectively); reduced granulomatous
mass on granulomatous model in Wistar rats (p < 0.01). These effects of Thai Binh HV extract are equivalent to diclofenac sodium at a dose of 15 mg / kg / day. Conclusion: “Thai Binh HV" extract was effective against rheumatoid arthritis, acute and chronic anti-inflammatory in experiments.
