STUDY THE RATE OF ANEMIA IN OBJECTS HAVING MEDICAL EXAMINATION AT THAI NGUYEN CENTRAL HOSPITAL

Abstract

Objective: determining the prevalence of anemia among some subjects at Thai Nguyen Hospital in first half of 2018.


Methods: aged 18-40 having medical examination and complete blood count at Thai Nguyen Central Hospital 2018. Cross sectional descriptive study. Good sample selection.


Results: The prevalence of anemia was 12.98%, among them the prevalence of anemia in male was 2.13%, in females was 18.31%, the difference of anemia rate between male and female was statistically significant. In male, the prevalence of mild anemia was 91.0%, moderate 8.2% and severe 0.8%. In female, the prevalence of mild anemia was 72.9%, medium 26.7% and severity 0.4%. Among the anemic subjects in both male and female, the MCV was <80 fl (86.9% male, 62.2% female) and MCH <27 pg (85.5% male, 69,9% female).


Conclusion: The prevalence of anemia among subjects was 12.98%. Among the anemic subjects have hypochromic, microcytic anemia.
