Abstract

Objectives: (1) Study of the toxicity level of DDHV remedy on experimental animals. (2) Study of the Semi-Chronic toxicity of DDHV remedy on experimental animals.


Methods: Evaluating the acute toxicity of DDHV remedy in oral mice by Litchfield-Wilcoxon method. Evaluating the Semi-Chronic toxicity of DDHV remedy on oral rat following the rules and guidelines of the Ministry of the Health.


Results: Acute Toxicity: the LD50 of DDHV extract was not found in oral mice, the mice were given the highest dose of 36.0 g /kg/day, 25 times the expected dose, and the mice were normal.


Semi-Chronic toxicity: On the rat used DDHV extract with dose of 0.84g/extract/day and dose of 4.20g/extract/day in 90 continuous days, it shows that: Rats are healthy and good weigh gain; not alter the hematological indexes; Not change the blood biochemical to evaluating the liver and kidney function; not damage histology of liver, spleen, kidney.


Conclusion: DDHV extract is safe at dosage and used intervals.
