ECG CHANGES AND PATHOLOGICAL MECHANISM IN HEAT STROKE IN RABBITS

Abstract

Objectives: determining the ECG changes and relative pathological mechanism in heat
stroke rabbits. Methods: intervention study. The indices included: heat rate, heart rate disorder, voltage of P, QRS, QS T wave, ST segment. Results: there were heart rate disorders in heat stroke, includung tachycardia (60.90%), junctional rhythm (8.70%), ventricular rhythm 30.40% (include ventricular fibrillation 13.0%, ventricular flutter 8.7%, artrial fibrillation 8.7%. The heart rate after heat stroke was raised, differrent following the clinical grade, positive correlation with rectal temperature and no correlation with survival time; The voltage of P wave was decreased and different following the clinical grade, negative correlation with rectal temperature (R =- 0,52)
and no correlation with survival time; The voltage of QRS, QS complex was slight down and lower in severe rabbits, no correlation with rectal temperature (R =- 0,08 and -0,11alternatively). No changes were observed in ST segment, T wave in DII. About of the relative mechanism of ECG changes, the myocardial hemorrhage and necrosis were pointed out as a part of causes of the ECG changes. Conclusion: there were heart rate disorder, tarchycardia, low voltage of P wave, QRS, QS complex. The tarchycardia and low voltage of P wave were be able a prognosis index of clinical garde but not of survival time. The mechanism of ECG changes could be myocardial hemorrhage and necrosis.
