EVALUATION OF TREATMENT EFFECTS BLOOD LIPID DISORDER OF HOA VANG TEA (HAKODAE-NINH) IN TAM DAO

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the safety and lipid-lowering effects of camellia leaf in the treatment of patients with primary dyslipidemia. Subjects and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study, conducted on 45 patients diagnosed with primary dyslipidemia, met the selection criteria and no exclusion criteria at the Department of Rehabilitation, Thanh Nhan Hospital and Department of Cardiology, Tue Tinh Hospital. Results: After 30 days of drinking camellia leaves, total cholesterol, triglyceride and LDL-C concentrations all decreased compared to before treatment (p < 0.001), HDL-C tended to increase but had no statistical significance (p> 0.05). Camellia leaves has the effect of losing weight of patients (p < 0.001), reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension but not reducing blood pressure in patients with normal blood pressure (p > 0.05). There was no change in hematological index or liver and kidney function of the patient. Conclusion: Camellia leaf is effective in regulating blood lipid disorders in patients with primary dyslipidemia, without causing unwanted effects on the hematopoietic system as well as liver and kidney functions in patients.
