Policies on Plagiarism, Retraction, Conflict of Interest, and Publishing Copyright
The Vietnam Journal of Physiology is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and scientific responsibility throughout the submission, peer review, publication, and archiving processes. The Journal does not tolerate any violations of publishing ethics.
1. Plagiarism Detection and Handling Policy
All submitted manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism using specialized software (such as Turnitin or equivalent tools). Plagiarism is defined as, but not limited to:

Verbatim or near-verbatim copying of others' content without proper citation.

Self-plagiarism: Significant reuse of previously published content without declaration.

Paraphrasing others' content without attributing the source.

Copying data, images, tables, maps, or models without permission or citation.
Manuscripts with high similarity indices or signs of plagiarism will:

Be immediately rejected during the preliminary screening stage; or
-
Be retracted if discovered after publication.
The Journal reserves the right to notify the author's governing body, workplace, and relevant parties when necessary.
2. Retraction Policy
The Journal will proceed to retract published articles in the following cases:

Discovery of plagiarism, academic fraud, or serious violations of research ethics.

Data that is fabricated, manipulated, or unverifiable.

Significant errors in methodology, analysis, or conclusions that distort the scientific nature of the research.

Infringement of copyright or intellectual property rights.
-
Serious undisclosed conflicts of interest.
The retraction process involves:
-
A public announcement on the Journal’s website.
-
A clear statement of the reasons for retraction.
-
Maintaining the original article information labeled as "RETRACTED" to ensure the transparency of the academic record.
3. Conflict of Interest Policy
Authors, reviewers, and editors are responsible for fully declaring any conflicts of interest (financial, professional, academic, or personal) that could influence the objectivity of the manuscript.
In cases where conflicts of interest are undeclared or dishonestly declared:

The manuscript may be rejected or retracted.

The peer review process may be canceled or re-conducted.

Editors have the right to change reviewers or recuse themselves from processing the manuscript if a conflict of interest exists.
4. Copyright and Publishing Rights Policy
The Journal does not accept manuscripts that:

Infringe upon the copyright of a third party.
-
Have been published or are under consideration by another journal/publisher (unless there is a specific explicit agreement).
Authors must ensure that:

The manuscript is an original research work.
-
They hold legal rights to all content, data, images, maps, and appendices.
-
They have obtained written consent from all co-authors (if applicable).
Upon acceptance for publication, authors agree to transfer publishing rights to the Journal in accordance with current regulations while retaining authorship of the work.
5. Policy Against Scientific Misconduct
The Journal strictly prohibits the following behaviors:

Fabricating, distorting, or concealing research data.

Misleading citations, non-existent citations, or citations intended to manipulate results.
-
Peer review fraud or identity theft of scholars.
-
Manipulation of the peer review or publication process.
If detected, these behaviors will lead to:

Rejection or retraction of the manuscript.
-
A temporary or permanent ban on the author(s) from submitting future manuscripts.
-
Notification to scientific management agencies and relevant members of the scientific community.
